Over the past seven years, two Georgia players have won the Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker. First-year starter Jalon Walker can make it three in six years. On Tuesday, Walker was one of five players announced by the Butkus Foundation as finalists for the award, joining Clemson's Barrett Carter, Ole Miss' Chris Paul Jr., UCLA's Carson Schwesinger, and Oklahoma's Danny Stutsman.

Jamon Dumas-Johnson was named a Butkus Award finalist in 2022, now making pick sixes with Kentucky. The Butkus Award will be named by Dec. 10.

Nakobe Dean (I still can't believe he was not a first round pick and the Falcons passed on him twice) won the award in 2021, while Roquan Smith took home the honors in 2017.
