I think the only real solution is to fundamentally change the way college football is set up.  Players need to be required to be admitted to the school through regular admission channels and enrolled in classes BEFORE they can be offered a scholarship to play or offered any NIL money.  The system today is a pro sports team with no legal connection to the school based on a college campus.  The coaches are not university employees and the players are not paid by the university.  The only connection to the school is the requirement that the players be enrolled in the school and if players become employees of the athletic association, that requirement will be ruled illegal.

Yeah, especially if you look at college football as a whole and not through Georgia fan goggles.  We are riding high and enthusiasm is through the roof.  Imagine being a KY or NCSt or Wake Forest fan.  You would know your team had zero chance of winning any sort of championship under the current system.  The portal isn't going to solve the problems of the "also ran" teams.  Kiffen thought the portal could get him in, he worked it better than anyone in the country and it didn't work.  How does he go back to the donors at Ole Miss and ask for even more money so he can get better portal players?  Lower tier teams will continue to fall farther and farther behind and a top tier of maybe 10-15 programs will dominate college football unless something changes.

I was all for a change; for players getting paid. But this is ridiculous. There should be $ limits in place and more limits on transfers.
