Now Tech won another Orange Bowl in 1947 but did not go to a bowl for three years. So it's not in a row.
Tech won Gator in 1956, but that stops the MAJOR Bowl streak.
When I was born, Tech was 11 and 3 in Bowls. They are 15 and 17 since. They are 4 and 9 last 13 Bowls.
Tech was 17 and 8 in Bowl games when Ray Goff was replaced by Jim Donnan.
Georgia was BEHIND Tech in wins at 15-14-3. Georgia did not go to a Bowl in 1996.
But 3 CFHOF coaches and 27 consecutive Bowl Game seasons later, the Dawgs stand at #2 in Bowl wins 38.
They have played in a record 18 different bowls.
This is including appearances in five of the New Year's Six Bowl Games (2 Rose, 5 Orange, 3 Cotton, 7 Peach, and 11 Sugar Bowls) and appearances in the 2018, 2022, and 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship.
So of our 38 wins 20 have come in Major New Years Six bowls plus two other CFCG's.
I'm pretty pleased to erase another Georgia Tech talking point over Georgia. Now let's win two more in a row to end that Drought brag.
