ATHENS, Ga. — The University of Georgia women's golf program has signed junior transfer Vilde Nystrøm to its spring 2025 roster, head coach Erika Brennan announced on Thursday. A native of Stavanger, Norway, Nystrøm arrives in Athens following two seasons at the University of North Carolina, where she helped the Tar Heels earn NCAA Regional bids in each of the last two seasons, including an NCAA Championship appearance in 2023-24.

The Butkus Award, named after legendary linebacker Dick Butkus, is an annual college football award given to the nation’s best linebacker by The Butkus Foundation. Other finalists for the award this season were Clemson’s Barrett Carter, Oklahoma’s Danny Stutsman, Ole Miss’ Chris Paul Jr., and UCLA’s Carson Schwesinger.
