Trying to help my gf find one for her son.  Rather than getting one of the "cheap" chinese knockoff brands, I wanted to see if I could find an actual name brand one before settling on one of those.

You are thinking right. I bought the cheap chinese crap and it worked for awhile but was unreliable.
