I think a lot of these guys are using the portal to play their current team into a giving a big raise.  It doesn't take a Jimmy Sexton to figure that tactic out.

Sort of makes sense.  Top players know they won't be taken seriously unless they act like they are going to a top program.  No one is going to believe an SEC 5 star proven performer is going to transfer to South Carolina or NC State.

But at the same time people know UGA don't like to pay so it gives the current team financial wiggle room.

it most cases this is true but after a very recent meeting with some boosters they've decided to up offers and it's rumored that we offered stupid money to Noah Thomas BUT aTm may just counter with more than stupid money....and we getting no Coley relationship discount.
