Woof™ For 16th Best Season in History of UGA Football #6 Final AP Poll ....

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Led by top-10 individual finishes by Kate Song and Chantal El Chaib, the Georgia women's golf team finished third at the San Diego State Classic. The 54-hole event at The Heights Golf Club concluded on Tuesday. Song finished ninth overall at 2-under 214, while El Chaib was 10th at 1-under 215. Georgia posted its best team finish of the season, improving upon the Bulldogs' fourth place showing on the team leaderboard at the UAB Hoover Invitational last fall. The Bulldogs' counting scores on Tuesday included at 1-under 71 from Celine Brovold Sanne, a pair of 1-over 73s from Song and Morgan Smith and a 79 from El Chaib. Vilde Marie Nystrøm posted an 80 in the final round. Georgia will return to action in three weeks when the Bulldogs open play in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Georgia Bulldogs (16-9, 4-8 SEC) fell to the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies (19-5, 8-3 SEC), 69-53, on Tuesday night at Reed Arena. Two scorers reached double figures headlined by Silas Demary Jr.'s 19 points on the night. After Demary Jr.'s 19 points on the night, sophomore guard Blue Cain followed up with 17 points with 15 coming in the first half. The Bulldogs will return to Athens where they will face No. 21 Missouri on Saturday, Feb. 15 with tipoff set at 3:30 p.m. ET at Stegeman Coliseum. The game will be televised on SEC Network.

ATHENS, Ga. --- Former All-Southeastern Conference defensive back and current Houston Texan Kamari Lassiter has made a gift to the UGA Athletic Association's Scholarship Endowment Fund following his first year in the NFL. Lassiter, a native of Savannah, Ga., who the Texans drafted in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, has contributed $4,000 back to the UGAAA, signifying his No. 4 Texans jersey.

ATHENS, Ga. -- The fall semester brought plenty of successes for Georgia athletics, from the football team winning the SEC championship and making the College Football Playoff to women's tennis' Dasha Vidmanova capturing the NCAA singles title. Bulldogs across all sports shined in the classroom, too. Not only did 17 of Georgia's 19 teams earn at least a 3.0 grade point average — with all student-athletes combining for an overall GPA of 3.26, the highest in UGA Athletic Association history other than the 3.34 achieved during the 2020 COVID spring semester — but 41 Bulldogs across 13 sports earned a perfect 4.0. The 4.0 Bulldogs were recognized at halftime of a women's basketball game at Stegeman Coliseum last month. Golf paced the women's sports with a 3.68, narrowly edging out cross country (3.66) and soccer (3.56). Leading the way for the Georgia men's sports was the tennis team, which earned a 3.57 GPA.

RIO GRANDE, PR — The Georgia men's golf team climbed to T-4 after round two of the Puerto Rico Classic at the Grande Reserve Golf Club on Tuesday Feb. 11. The Bulldogs ended the day after shooting an impressive 14-under 274. Senior Buck Brumlow ended the day T-3 on the player leaderboard after shooting 6-under in the second round. Brumlow is 8-under for the tournament. Sophomore Grayson Wood shot 1-under and is tied for 19th on the leaderboard alongside Graduate Student George Langham and Junior Carter Loflin. Freshman James Earle maintained pace throughout round 1, coming in at 1-over at T51. Individually, Freshman Matt Moloney shot 9-over to end the day T-87.  Purdue sits in first at 28-under 548, followed by Ole Miss at 27-under 549 and South Carolina at 22-under 554. Georgia and LSU are tied for fourth at 20-under 556.

ATHENS, Ga.-----Georgia's preseason All-Americans Tre Phelps and Kolten Smith have been named to the 2025 Golden Spikes Award watch list, USA Baseball announced recently.
