Georgia Pushing to Poach Projected $558,000 Highly Touted Star QB Away From Texas

-Story by Dave Holcomb

The Georgia Bulldogs still have hope of landing the No. 1 quarterback prospect from the 2026 college football recruiting class. Yet, an alternative plan for the Bulldogs is quickly emerging.

Georgia faces questions about who will be the team's QB1 heading into the 2025 season. Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi and freshman Ryan Montgomery are among the signal-callers expected to compete for the starting gig.

The Bulldogs also have their eyes on the future as the latest college football rumors indicate. On.3.com's Steven Wiltfong reported Georgia has made an offer to Texas Longhorns commit Dia Bell, who the outlet has as the No. 4 ranked quarterback in the 2026 class.

Bell is also the No. 14 overall prospect in the class based on 247Sports' composite rankings. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Bell landed a six-figure NIL deal in Aug. 2024.

Wiltfong wrote Georgia has made an offer to Bell and Oklahoma commit Jaden O'Neal. These offers come as the Oregon Ducks are gaining momentum for Jared Curtis, the top quarterback prospect of the 2026 class.

Georgia remains in Curtis' list of top three teams along with Oregon and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

A five-star prospect, 247 Sports has Bell ranked as the top recruit from Fla. in the 2026 class. Bell will attend American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. this fall.

While committed to Texas, Bell has received offers from several other top college football programs. Although he has already signed a six-figure NIL deal with Leaf Trading Cards, On3 projected his ultimate NIL value is $558,000.
