Momma had knee replacement surgery Tuesday morning and...

Everything was going great until early last night. She got up to go use the bathroom, and she couldn't put any weight on her leg/knee. It was really bad and that's not normal. Waiting on the doctor to call us to see what we're going to do. It sucks, and he's a fine doctor. No fever so that's good. It's a mystery to us. Hopefully, it's nothing. She's a champ when it comes to this type of thing so, when she complains, I listen. What a life!! Confused

Is the leg hot red and tender?? Could be a DVT, probably want you to get an doppler study.

good luck with that. I had a knee replacement and experienced no problems. I was fortunate. Hope she gets better soon

Just got home. Doctor didn't find any issues. Told her her knee was really bad and they spent more time with the replacement than usual. Prescribed an extra pain med and sent her home. She's a trooper so when she says she needs to see the doctor, I don't hesitate. Anyway, thanks guys.

Doppler Ultrasound
Healthcare providers use Doppler ultrasound to detect heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) problems. The test shows the direction and speed of blood moving through arteries and veins. It can identify blood clots, narrowed arteries and other problems that affect the heart and blood vessels in the legs, arms and stomach.
