Woof™ For 16th Best Season in History of UGA Football #6 Final AP Poll ....
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 12 Georgia GymDogs secured a season-high 197.350 on the road, ultimately falling to No. 8 Missouri 197.425 – 197.350 on Friday night at the Hearnes Center. The highlight of the night for the Bulldogs came on the beam rotation, where they put up a season-high of 49.550, championed by sophomore Anya Turner's career-high 9.975. Turner's routine tied for first and for the highest individual score of the meet on any event. The sophomore's score is the highest earned by any GymDog's routine this season. Georgia Gymnastics will return to Stegeman next Sunday to take on Kentucky at 6:00 p.m., ET.
ATHENS, Ga. – Redshirt senior Luca Urlando's victory in the 200-yard butterfly final highlighted a busy penultimate day of action for Georgia at the 2025 SEC Swimming & Diving Championships Friday at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium. Urlando touched first in the race with an SEC Championship and Bauerle Pool Record of 1:37.18, just one-hundredth of a second off the American Record time he posted last month at Tennessee. He now holds the top two event times in American history and has now won five SEC championships in his career. With one day of competition remaining, both Georgia teams continue to stand in fourth place, with the men tallying 642.5 points and the women claiming 538.5 points. Damn Texas is the new standard.
Men's 200y Butterfly – Following Urlando, graduate Jake Magahey earned his fourth bronze medal of the week with a personal-best A-cut of 1:39.91, the third-fastest time in program history.
ATHENS, Ga. – The eighth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs swept a doubleheader against the UIC Flames in their home opener doubleheader on Friday, winning 9-3 and 15-1 in front of a crowd of 2,974 at Foley Field.
ATHENS, Ga. – The ninth-ranked Georgia softball team used a sixth-inning comeback to beat App State on Friday night, 5-4, at Jack Turner Stadium. Georgia stays unbeaten on the season at 11-0.
ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia senior Abby McCulloh was named the 2025 Southeastern Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by the conference Friday evening prior to the fifth night of the SEC Championships at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium. McCulloh, who shared the honor last season with Chloe Stepanek of Texas A&M, is the eighth Georgia woman and 11th Bulldog overall to receive the honor. Since the award was instituted in 2005, Georgia has won more times than any other SEC women's swimming and diving program. She joins Lisa Caprioglio (2009, 2010) as the only repeat winners in program history.
ATHENS, Ga. --- Nine members of the Georgia track & field team are set to compete at the USC Invite in Columbia, S.C. on Saturday. The one-day meet will serve as the final indoor regular season meet for the Bulldogs as the team makes its final preparations for next week's SEC Indoor Championships, which will be held at Texas A&M from Feb. 27-March 1.
ATHENS – The seventh-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team will host the eighth-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex to close out its regular season home slate. Georgia (5-4, 3-1 SEC) returns to Bishop after competition in Texas this past weekend where they lost to SMU and Texas A&M. Georgia holds a 30-13 all-time lead against South Carolina (3-4, 1-3 SEC) with a 12-4 record against the Gamecocks in Bishop.
AUBURN, Al. - The Georgia Bulldogs men's basketball team continue their almost unfathomable schedule during the 2025 calendar on Saturday when they venture to The Plains to face No. 1/1 Auburn. The outing against the Tigers will be Georgia's 14th since the New Year began. It will be the Bulldogs' seventh contest versus top-10 competition, with five of those dates being on the road. All told, Auburn will represent Georgia's 13th top-25 opponent during the 2024-25 campaign. All of the aforementioned numbers – 13 games against ranked competition, seven versus top-10 teams and five road trips to top-10 foes – are the most of any team in the nation to date. With a date against No. 2/2 Florida looming next Tuesday, at the end of February Georgia will have played more than half – eight out of 15 – of its 2025 games against top-10 teams. The Bulldogs are 16-10 overall and 4-9 in SEC play. Georgia is squarely among NCAA bubble teams looking to make a late push into "March Madness." The Bulldogs' balanced offense features seven players who have led Georgia in scoring in one or more games.
