Dawgs lost to Oklahoma. We should still go to NCAA's with 20 wins.

Sad

Dawgs actually played pretty well. The foul imbalance was unbelievable. More than 10 minutes into the second half, they hadn't called a single foul on Oklahoma. Meanwhile, they'd called like 8 on Georgia. Seemed suspicious. After Mike White raised hell over a blatant no call, they called two back to back on Oklahoma. Demery had 22 points up to about 15 minutes to go in the game, but had to sit for a long period with 4 fouls and finished with 24. Newell was a little off early on, but finished with 21 pts and 17 rebounds. Oklahoma kept hitting 3s early and we didn't adjust and guard them. We hit a good number of threes early too, but finished at only 26%. Our longest scoring drought was about 5:50.

It would have been nice to play Kentucky again tonight, but I'm kind of glad to avoid another 9:30 tip.

Good points here..OK was burying 3’s…if a team stays hot from out there, anybody can be beaten.

Was listening to the post game with Chuck and Scott, apparently we went from 51% on 3's in the first half to 27% to end the game.  Seems everytime we get a guy hot from 3-point land, something happens to cool him off.

I hope Demery sticks around, he reminds me of Kenny Gaines in that he's a "baller".  He can take over a game, and he's starting to get that confidence.  Kenny never did.  If he can stay out of foul trouble and keep improving like he has, he's gonna be a good one for us I think.

Asa is a good player too, but I don't get all the NBA hype about him.  Maybe it's just not being a huge basketball nerd, I don't think he's a 1 and done type of player.  Would love to see him come back as well with Wilkins coming in next year.

Hey, we all want to root for the white boy, but Cain needs some confidence.  He's a good shooter, just not consistent.  I think that inconsistency comes from his lack of confidence in his ball handling skills.  If he gets the ball and it's not an immediate shooting opportunity, he seems to panic and has to get the ball to someone else.  Last night, he drove the basket a few times and if he can keep doing that and building that confidence, he's gonna be a damn good asset too.

I know everyone likes to look at the record, but watching this team play, I think they are on the verge of being a great team.  I think they have been a very good team all season.  A lot of close games that didn't go our way could have been demoralizing, but they kept it up.

Agree with you 100% on all of that.  I suppose UNC or Duke could decide Demery is worthy.  Also probably depends on who the next coach at NC State is.  Maybe we can keep him with NIL.  No way the league wants him yet.

On Asa, I said something to my brother in law about him after the last game when I heard someone in the crowd yelling "Hell of a one year, Asa."  I didn't think he was a one and done type talent either, but my BIL said he's projected top 15.  Apparently if you have any positive combination of talent, basketball IQ, and are a seven footer, the NBA will not pass on you.  I was a little surprised by that.  He's definitely not Anthony Edwards.

I think you could be our official basketball guru.  Good post.
