NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 11-seed Georgia Bulldogs (20-12, 8-10 SEC) fell to the 14-seed Oklahoma Sooners (20-12, 6-12 SEC), 81-75, on Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena. Three scorers reached double figures headlined by sophomore guard Silas Demary Jr.'s 24 points on the night. b After Demary Jr's 24-point performance, freshman forward Asa Newell followed with 21 points while sophomore guard Blue Cain finished with 17. Newell recorded his best performance as a Bulldog, producing a 21-point, 17-rebound double-double while setting a career-high in boards as well as his fifth 20+ point outing of the season. The Bulldogs will now wait for the 2025 men's tournament bracket reveal on the NCAA selection show, which is set to air on Sunday, March 16 at 6 p.m. ET on CBS.

ATHENS, Ga. Esther White's solo home run in bottom of the sixth inning propelled the 13th-ranked Georgia softball team to a 1-0 victory over Georgia Southern on Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs' record now stands at 20-4, including a 1-2 record in SEC play. Georgia hits the road for a three-game SEC series at No. 9 South Carolina. The series begins Friday at 6 p.m. and will stream live on SEC Network+.  

ATHENS, Ga. — Asa Newell has been named a finalist for the 2025 Kyle Macy Award, which is given to the top freshman in Division I basketball. Newell has enjoyed a standout season with the Bulldogs. He is Georgia's leading scorer and rebounder at 15.1 ppg and 6.5 rpg, respectfully. He has scored in double figures in 28 of 31 games, with four 20-point outings. Newell has notched six double-digit rebounding counts, leading to six double-doubles. Overall, Newell has led Georgia in points 19 times and in rebounds in 14 contests. Earlier this week, Newell was named to the SEC's All-Freshman team in balloting of league coaches.

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Georgia women's diving team wrapped up its season with the conclusion of the 2025 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships Wednesday afternoon at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center. Junior Hannah Stumpf finished 19th in the women's platform prelims. The diving season will continue with junior Renato Calderaro and sophomore Matthew Bray competing on both springboards at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships.

ATHENS, Ga. – Five members of the University of Georgia men's swimming and diving team were invited to the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday morning. The five Bulldogs, joined by divers Matthew Bray and Renato Calderaro and four relay alternates, will head to Federal Way, Washington for the event, running March 26-29 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. Redshirt senior Luca Urlando holds the top seed in the 200-yard butterfly with his American Record time of 1:37.17 set at Tennessee, followed by an SEC championship in the event. Urlando, who has reached the NCAA podium nine times in his career, is also seeded second in the 100y butterfly and 14th in the 200y individual medley. Graduate Jake Magahey ranks fourth in the 500y freestyle and 400y IM and eighth in the 200y butterfly as he enters his fifth NCAAs. Sophomore Tomas Koski is seeded third in the 500y freestyle and fifth in the 200y freestyle, along with the No. 22 slot in the 1,650y freestyle. Junior Ruard van Renen holds the ninth seed in the 100y backstroke and 22nd seed in the 200y backstroke, while freshman Drew Hitchcock is 12th in the 400y IM and 24th in the 200y butterfly.
