How to Live by Sarah Bakewell is excellent. It's based on the essays of Michel de Montaigne. I just finished it and highly recommend. It's insightful, clever and funny.

Hey Land, Have you watched The Boy's In The Boat yet? On Amazon. George Clooney directs. Not as good as the book, but worth the watch.

(01-06-2024, 10:46 AM)Replying to FeralDawg I just finished the books Swamp Fox(about Francis Marion) and Rebel yell(about Stonewall) and both were extremely insightful. Marion was a true badass. [/quote] Man I forgot about the Swamp Fox and Andrew Jackson. The best Generals were all Southern MacArthur Longstreet Johnston Eisenhower War Heros Audy Murphy Alvin York . (01-06-2024, 10:25 AM)Replying to SS from LaGrange No but I read the book about 5 years ago when it came out. Cant wait to see the movie. Come see me at Harding, I'll show you how to catch a big one. (01-06-2024, 09:13 AM)Replying to Top Row Dawg Have read some of those. I'm a big on the Rev War. I'll read anything about Cowpens and Kings Mtn. my 2 favorite war stories. Too bad The Patriot didn't follow history a little better. Loved the movie.
